At Behavioral Resources & Innovations our mission is to provide high quality Applied Behavior Analysis Services for the community. We strive to help change the world, one behavior at a time. Our services are provided in homes, schools, agencies and community settings for persons with and without special needs who could benefit from behavioral supports.

CHRISTY CARBONELL

MS TESOL, BCBA

Christy Carbonell is the founder and owner of BRI-ABA Services, LLC. She is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and consultant. She has been working in the behavioral support services field for over 20 years.

Her experience includes being the director of clinical and behavior services for various agencies. She had helped with the start up of several autism schools and programs for children and adults  with special needs. Early on in her career she also specialized in individual and family counseling as well as led several anger support groups for teens in middle school.

Christy has worked closely with several community agencies including the University of Miami’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities ( UM-NSU CARD), Autism Society of Miami and Miami Dade County Public Schools.

In March 2020 she created the BRI E-learning academy (https://bri-elearning.teachable.com) to help families, parents, professionals and educators who don’t have a lot of free time access services, supports and training. This online platform provides both paid and free on-demand webinars discussing several topics involving parenting issues, stress & anxiety, positive communication strategies, behavioral strategy trainings and CEU’s for behavior analysts. 

In 2021 she received the Outstanding Professional award from UM-NSU CARD.  She has also been featured in Voyagemia.com Miami's most inspiring stories in south Broward.

SPECIALTY AREAS

Christy’s specialty areas include working with adults that are diagnosed with autism and other special needs and working with persons of all ages who exhibit severe problem behaviors.

Her special interest areas include helping others manage stress/anxiety and increasing positive communication.

She also specializes In the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorders and issues surrounding picky eating/food selectivity in both children and teens using ABA methodologies. 


EDUCATION

Christy obtained her Associate’s degree from Miami Dade College with a concentration in Education and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida State University with a minor in Communications.

She then completed her Applied Behavior Analysis Coursework from St. Cloud State University and obtained her Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with a concentration in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) at Carlos Albizu University.
